Dear Jim,
Just dropping you a line to give another heartfelt thank you for the FANTASTIC Midwest Slam Turkey Hunt we just completed. Me and Peggy weren’t exactly sure what to expect since we don’t come from turkey country (Alaska), and this was only our second ever turkey hunt, but our hunting expectations were certainly met. I think as we become better turkey hunters we might be able to shave a little hunting time off but I’m still pleased we were able to get all our birds in five hunting days. The icing on the cake was the double we scored on Rios the last morning
I’ve talked to some other turkey hunters since we returned home and all of them are pretty amazed at the fact we got all our birds and secondly that two of them had multiple beards. What a GREAT week of hunting. Thanks again for all your effort and planning. Please don’t hesitate to use us as a reference for anyone who wants some first hand information. Looking forward to next year, Sincerely Jim Bowker
Jim harvested his Merriam Turkey and it had three beards, one was 9 5/8", 4 5/8" and 4 1/2". The next day he harvested another Merriam with two beards, 101/2" and 4 1/2".
This Turkey that Peg harvested always came off the roost in the morning and flew down on the golf course; very smart bird. We built her a blind where the Turkey's went to roost and with Jim's help (her hubby) and with her determination, patience and a little help calling, she harvested this big Gobbler.
With one morning left on their Triple Slam Hunt, Jim and Peg were pressed for time and lacking 2 Rio's to finish their hunt before they departed back to Alaska.
So we got them in position in a makeshift blind and both harvested their Rio's by 7:15 that morning.
My hat goes off to both of my Client's (our friends) on their second Turkey hunt ever for a superb job.
